Dr. Alexis Cohen
Dr. Alexis Cohen is a pediatric dentist with a passion for public health. She attended New York University College of Dentistry, where she received her dental degree. She also earned her Master’s in Public Health at NYU before continuing on to train as a pediatric dentist.
She completed her specialty training at Columbia University/New York- Presbyterian Hospital, where she received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. There she received extensive didactic and clinical training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry, including restorative dentistry, hospital dentistry, anesthesia, behavior management, and care for patients with special needs.
Dr. Alexis works at New York University College of Dentistry as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry and Epidemiology and in the office of global outreach. She travels globally with the NYU global outreach team providing preventive dental care and dental treatment around the world. In the last few years alone, she has worked on oral health programs in Chile, Nepal, India, Mexico, Ecuador, and Maine. Dr. Alexis loves seeing the world and learning about new cultures and she is thrilled to be doing so while bettering the oral health of the communities she visits. As a child her favorite movie was Annie, and to this day she believes that, “you’re never fully dressed without a smile.” Dr. Alexis hopes that by brining healthy smiles to children, they will be empowered, more confident, and better equipped to take on life’s challenges.
Dr. Alexis is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Education Association.
